Anne Larsen worked as a successful photographer for one of the largest commercial studios in Copenhagen, Denmark. In 1994 she moved to the United States to pursue a career in fine-art photography. Anne’s intimate still life images and delicate photographs of the natural environment, all made with a 4x5" view camera or medium format camera; share a common luminosity and elegance. Her hand made silver gelatin prints are distinguished by their impeccable execution and tonal subtlety. Anne has assisted and taught on workshops instructed by James Baker, Morley Baer, Ruth Bernhard, Charles Cramer, Philip Hyde, Ray McSavaney, and John Sexton

Dan Burkholder is known for looking over Photography’s horizon to discover new ways of capturing and expressing the photographic image. In the early 1990’s he wrote the groundbreaking book Making Digital Negatives for Contact Printing.
After Hurricane Katrina ravaged the Gulf Coast in 2005, Burkholder recorded the chaos of post-Katrina New Orleans in his poignant monograph The Color of Loss, the first coffee table book photographed entirely with high dynamic range (HDR) techniques. In 2012, Burkholder led the mobile photography revolution with his forward-looking book iPhone Artistry. Dan earned his BA and Master’s degrees in Photography from Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, California. His platinum/palladium and pigmented ink prints are included in private and public collections internationally. Dan’s web site is www.DanBurkholder.com.

Della Taylor Hoss was born in Harvey Illinois on June 3,1900. It was soon after her birth that the Taylor family relocated to California, where Della remained until her death in 1997. In 1925 Della graduated from Stanford University, with a degree in journalism, and then went on to pursue her interest in art. She began working in San Francisco for a commercial art studio, and eventually enrolled in courses to study etching and wood block printing. Della went on to study under Mark Tobey, in Seattle, for several months. While there she learned a technique called "rubbed graphic drawing", a tool she used extensively in her later career.

Introducing Limited Edition Deluxe Posters. Printed in 1981-82, these 25 ½ x 36 inch posters were of the highest quality at the time. Each image was printed using "offset lithography from state-of-the-art laser scanned duotone separations on fine, coated paper." All 350 limited edition deluxe posters were carefully inspected and approved by Ansel Adams, before he numbered and signed each one. We are thrilled to offer a small quantity of these posters for purchase, with special limited-edition framing options that meet the highest museum-quality standards.
“For the first time, the New York Graphic Society is publishing three posters with Ansel Adams’ most famous images: Clearing Winter Storm, Yosemite Valley, to commemorate the publication of YOSEMITE AND THE RANGE OF LIGHT, Moonrise Hernandez, New Mexico, for IMAGES, 1923-1974, and Aspens, Northern New Mexico, for THE CAMERA, The New Ansel Adams Photography Series / Book 1. Nearly thirty years ago, Keith S. Walklet traded a daily commute (from Connecticut to New York City) for the mountains of the Western U.S. Setting off with a camera and motorcycle, he explored the continental U.S. and Alaska. Three months and 18,000 miles later, he found himself in Ansel Adams’ playground, Yosemite Valley. Looking for food and shelter for the winter in a beautiful place he could photograph, Keith filled out an application to work for Yosemite Park & Curry Co. He expected to be travelling again in spring. Instead, fourteen years passed and he progressed from his entry-level position to one overseeing public relations and educational programs for Yosemite Concession Services.

West Coast landscape artist, Martino Hoss uses a variety of media to bring to life his sensual reactions to the world around him. His portfolio includes: pastel-on-copper paintings, acrylics, oils, original serigraphs, block prints, monotypes, pen & ink drawings, mobiles, and murals. Hoss received a B.F.A. in drawing and painting from the University of the Pacific in 1982, and he earned a B.F.A. in Advertising Design from Art Center College of Design in 1987. He has traveled extensively throughout the United States and Europe, and he has a special affinity for the Pacific Northwest, California and Yosemite National Park – areas that have inspired many of his colorful, emotive landscapes.
MaryEllen Hackett is an observational landscape painter whose work captures the environment she lives and works in. She has a B.F.A. in painting and printmaking from Adelphi University in NY. Hackett has received artist in residence positions at Weir Farm National Historic Site, Fire Island National Seashore, Joshua Tree National Park, the Vermont Studio Center, and a work/study at the Center for Book Arts in NYC.

Penny started filling sketchbooks with drawings as a newly arrived young working woman in Yosemite in 1964. Eventually she started painting in oils to portray the wonder she felt about the entire Sierra Nevada. "I am grateful for the countless mountain experiences I’ve enjoyed through backpacking, hiking, skiing, snowshoeing and even working a whole summer at Vogelsang High Sierra Camp seven miles from Tioga road. This mountain life has had a profound emphasis on my painting along with studying geology and botany with experts in Yosemite. Living in Yosemite Valley for many years and being part of the Yosemite Community has brought me rewarding friendships still vital today. The best is making art that lets me share my joy of this remarkable place with others."

When I first came to California, I became acquainted with the Merced National Wildlife Refuge in the Central Valley. Efforts were then being made to restore the wetlands that had once been prolific in that area but were being diminished at an alarming pace. Through my photography, I joined the conservation efforts to save these natural and wild places. I want to share my artistic vision with others to increase awareness of these pristine landscapes, which are precious resources meriting preservation.
Sally Owens is a painter working in watercolor, and a longtime member of the Yosemite community, having settled in the area in 1988. If you’ve visited The Ansel Adams Gallery you’ve likely seen her artwork; spare and subtle depictions of subjects that populate Yosemite and the Sierra foothills.

Mirror Image: Western Redbud, Early Spring
Signed Special Edition Photographs were printed by Ansel Adams' studio assistants during the years between 1958 and 1972 from his original negatives. Each of these 8 x 10 inch matted prints bear Ansel Adams' signature and are documented with a special stamp on the back of the mount that reads "SPECIAL EDITION OF FINE PRINTS". They generally range in price between $2,500 and $6,500.

Tom was born and raised in Marin County, California, where the rugged scenery inspired him from an early age to create landscape prints using wood blocks in a style strongly influenced by traditional Japanese prints. He studied History at UC Santa Cruz, where he was introduced to fine book printing by William Everson & Jack Stauffacher. In 1975 he produced his first illustrated book of woodcut prints, 28 Views of Mount Tamalpais, on UCSC’s Cowell Press. In 1977 Killion founded his own Quail Press, where he has printed five handmade art books depicting landscapes from California to Europe and Africa.
William Neill has been photographing continuously in his backyard of Yosemite National Park since 1977. Reared in California and Virginia, Neill and educated at the University of Colorado (BA in Environmental Conservation, 1976), he has found his balance in the Sierra Nevada . In the early 1980s, he served as staff photographer at The Ansel Adams Gallery, where he was introduced to the work of Ansel Adams and other fine art photographers. The natural environment and spirit of Yosemite remains the constant inspiration for Neill. He pays special attention to the intimate detail and design of nature in his fine art prints. His elegant color photographs celebrate the magic of our natural world.

Ansel Adams began the Yosemite Special Edition Photograph series in 1958 to offer beautiful works of art as an affordable alternative to original photographs. Each 8x10 inch silver photograph is hand-crafted from the artist's original negative by Alan Ross, a master photographer and Ansel Adams' former assistant. Utilizing the artist's exacting instructions, or 'recipes,' Mr. Ross completes each individual print according to Ansel's guidance. Exclusive to The Ansel Adams Gallery, Special Edition Black and White Photographs celebrate Ansel's tribute to Yosemite's grandeur.
