Yosemite Artwork from the Source

The legacy of landscape art and its power to inspire cannot be overlooked.  Our family of contemporary artists has been hand-selected for the quality of their work and their dedication to the history of their medium and muse.  Each artist has a unique view on Yosemite, and the world at large, which is the result of years working behind a camera, easel or studio table as well as in the field.   Every piece is crafted to the highest standards and made to inspire another generation of conservationists, nature enthusiasts, and art lovers.

The Ansel Adams Gallery represents over 20 artists, in addition the work of Ansel Adams, whose artwork embodies the stunning landscape and soul that is Yosemite National Park and the American West. Several of our represented photographers are former assistants of Ansel Adams or students.

REPRESENTED ARTIST

Charlotte Gibb

A native of Northern California, Charlotte earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. She cut her teeth in the advertising business as an art director in the 1990’s, then operated her own graphic design firm in the San Francisco Bay Area for decades. Throughout her long career as an artist, her photography was constantly infused in her design work. Her darkroom has since been replaced with digital darkroom tools, and her style has evolved from a somewhat journalistic approach, to one that pays tribute to the natural world.

REPRESENTED ARTIST

Keith Walklet

Nearly thirty years ago, Keith S. Walklet traded a daily commute (from Connecticut to New York City) for the mountains of the Western U.S. Setting off with a camera and motorcycle, he explored the continental U.S. and Alaska. Three months and 18,000 miles later, he found himself in Ansel Adams’ playground, Yosemite Valley. Looking for food and shelter for the winter in a beautiful place he could photograph, Keith filled out an application to work for Yosemite Park & Curry Co.
