Early photographs like this, of Adams in the High Sierra he loved so dearly, are very uncommon. This was made around 1938 by Ron Partridge, an early assistant of Adams' and son of Imogen Cunningham, probably when Adams was making photographs for the book Sierra Nevada: the John Muir Trail . This original platinum photograph is available only through The Ansel Adams Gallery.
