Privacy Policy

The Ansel Adams Gallery is pleased to serve you, and we expect to maintain your confidence in us. We do not, and will not, sell, trade, or otherwise give out our customer or mailing lists.

Privacy is of great concern to most users of the Internet, including us, and is a critical part of an enjoyable and satisfactory user experience. We are acutely aware of the privacy concerns of our customers and visitors to our website. We do not collect personal information other than what you provide to complete a transaction or sign up for our newsletter.

The Ansel Adams Gallery does use cookies to track visitors page preferences and navigation bottlenecks on the web site.  This is done anonymously, and purely for the purposes of improving the site.  We are also happy to take your suggestions.  Please feel free to contact Matthew Adams, President, at matthew@anseladams.com or William Garnsey, Ecommerce Director, at william@anseladams.com.

Purchasing from the site does not automatically add you to our newsletter, again part of our respect for your privacy. If you would like to get one of our monthly newsletters, please sign up.

Security Policy

Our policy is to protect our customers' and employees information to the greatest extent possible. Transactions are done via secured servers, customer information is protected both electronically and physically. Customer information is not allowed out of our facilities or onto mobile computers. Our company is small and our staff is made up of really great people. Many have been with us for more than 10 years.

Even with all the protections in place and updated regularly, we cannot absolutely guarantee that we will not be hacked. What we do promise, and this has been our policy since before it became California law, is to notify our customers if, and as soon as we become aware of, any security breach that may compromise customer information.

Our Ethics

The Ansel Adams Gallery has been in business since 1902 and in the same family the entire time. Our history gives us a long term perspective that most companies simply don't have. We intend to be in business for a few more generations, and that doesn't happen if you don't treat people right. We are willing to give up a little profit today to do the right thing the right way, or to have fun at work. Our staff is great, people who love working around inspirational art and ideas, who are enthusiastic about doing what they do better and better, and trying to instill that inspiration in our customers. As a company, we aren't going to do anything that jeopardizes our customers' or staff's trust. That is our internal ethical motivation.

We also have an external ethical motivation, which is that Ansel Adams continues to be an inspiration for millions of people. He was a great man, who continues to be worthy of emulation and hero worship at many levels. As his family and continuing the Gallery in his name, we are entrusted with protecting his legacy. It is a trust we take very, very seriously. We are scrutinized, and subject to criticism, for any mistreatment of Ansel's legacy, actual or perceived. We are sometimes our own greatest critics and brakes, but it seems to work.
